I translate my desire to feel at home between two distant places. Sometimes through exaggerated performances of day to day activities, sometimes through interventions in familiar spaces; I explore the state of emptiness. I carry an interdisciplinary practice to provoke something deeper in my mundane, perhaps ordinary life. Emptiness can be contradicting. It can refer to the lack of sincerity in nothingness or a meaningful transition of nothingness to vastness. I delve into both cases using East Asian traditions as the driving force to justify the significance of emptiness while using materials not specific to East Asia to deliver the idea.
I am currently finishing my thesis at Ocad University and is expected to show at Gradex this spring.
